How to enable the TaxCalc internal PDF viewer

In the 2015 release TaxCalc have implemented a new tool, TaxCalc Viewer, to handle report output. This tool does not rely on the presence of Adobe Reader. If you are experiencing problems with the viewing/printing of returns in TaxCalc, it is recommended that you switch to the TaxCalc Viewer

Enabling and using the TaxCalc Viewer

Practice users

  • On the home screen (or Practice Manager) select View > PDF Viewing > Use TaxCalc Viewer. This will turn on the TaxCalc viewer.
  • Extra options are available if you open the same menu option in Tax Return Production, where you can choose between Internal Preview or New Window:
    • Internal Preview opens the document inside the TaxCalc Application.
    • New Window will open a new TaxCalc Viewer window.

Individual users

  • Open the year for the return you wish to print: View > PDF Viewing > Use TaxCalc Viewer.
  • From that option you can then choose between Internal Preview or New Window.
    • Internal Preview opens the document inside the TaxCalc Application.
    • New Window will open a new TaxCalc Viewer window.
