The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found.

If the following messages appear when trying to run the TaxCalc application for the first time on a new Windows 10 PC, the below steps can be used to fix the issue:

1 - Click on the start menu, type 'Apps & Features', then press enter:

2 - Locate the most recent 'Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable (x86)' from the list, then click 'Modify':


3 - Click 'Yes', then 'Repair' and wait a few seconds:

4 - After setup is complete, you may be prompted to 'Restart' your machine, if so, save and close any work you have open, then click 'Restart':

5 - The TaxCalc application should now successfully load, in which case you can follow the initial setup wizard.
